Our Wedding!

In honor of our anniversary, I wanted to share memories from our wedding day three years ago. In some ways, it feels like just yesterday! It’s crazy how much can change in three years - new city, new jobs, new baby and more! The highlight for both of us was celebrating and starting this new chapter surrounded by friends and family who we love. I married my best friend and had the time of my life. Our parents’ heartfelt speeches, the dress, the weather, the groom… to me, it was all perfect. Right out of a fairy tale. Marrying Michael is the best decision I’ve ever made and I’d do it over a million times!

Home Office Tour

When we were apartment hunting, we had our “must-have” list of non-negotiables. And then we had our “bonus list” of things that would be nice to have, but weren’t necessary. One of those “bonus” items was space for a home office. When we visited our apartment for the first time, it checked off most of the boxes on our must-have list (2 bedrooms, a dishwasher, space for a dining room table and chairs etc.) but it didn’t have a separate dedicated space for a home office. However, once we got settled in and things began to find their place, it looked like creating a dedicated workspace could be possible!

Over the weekend, Adina turned 10 months old. In two months, she is going to be one! She is becoming such a big girl and her personality is shining through more than ever! Tips for Traveling with a Baby

In Adina’s short 9 months of life, she has done her fair share of traveling. Before each trip, I remember feeling anxious about what to pack, nervous about how she would be on the plane or in the car, and apprehensive about how she would sleep while we were away from home. While these trips definitely required more planning, to be honest, they were much easier than I expected. Babies change so much in the first year of life, so every trip was a little bit different, but here are a few tips we learned from our experiences traveling with a baby:

Maternity Photos

While I was pregnant, I knew I wanted to have professional newborn photos taken once Adina was born. After researching different newborn photographers, I came across Faryl Loew Photography and instantly knew I wanted to work with her. Faryl specializes in newborn and family photography but she also does maternity photography. Although I hadn’t planned to have professional photos taken while I was pregnant, once I saw Faryl’s work, I thought this would be a really cool way to capture this special time!

A Day in Dumbo

I love summer weekends - they feel like a mini vacation every week! This summer we’ve spent lots of time at the beach and traveling for birthday celebrations and weddings. Don’t get me wrong, I love going to the beach and getting away from the hustle and bustle of the week. But there is something really nice about staying home and “playing tourist” in your own city. Last weekend was the first one we spent at home in almost a month and we made the most of our Sunday Fun-day and explored one of my favorite Brooklyn neighborhoods - Dumbo.

Babymoon Recap + Lake Como Travel Guide

It’s hard to believe that this time last year we were in Lake Como, Italy - just months before Adina was born. I was about 24 weeks pregnant, my bump was just starting to "pop" and I was full of energy and still mobile! Our "babymoon" was so incredible and I’m so happy Michael and I were able to have this special time together as a couple.  Read on to see lots of pictures from our Lake Como Travel Diary, as well as recommendations for things to do and places to eat.

July 4th Recap + Fire Island Travel Guide

We spent the holiday weekend at the beach in Fire Island. My parents have been going to Fire Island every year since they were in their twenties. I have so many amazing memories there from my childhood, as a teen, and a young adult. It feels like a true escape from the daily grind and hustle and bustle of city life. Just a short 30-minute ferry ride from the mainland, there are no cars on the island and the tallest building can't be taller than the tallest tree. Everyone walks or bikes everywhere and you’ll see adults and children alike, heading to the beach with red wagons in tow. Though the water was a bit choppy on the ferry ride over to the island, the crisp breeze felt so nice and I was immediately transported into “vacation mode.”

Grand Cayman Island Vacation Diary + Travel Guide

I have to admit, when my mother-in-law Yana invited me to join her on a girls’ trip with my sister-in-law Rachel to Grand Cayman Island last month, it wasn’t an immediate “yes!” Before having Adina, I wouldn’t have given it a second thought - after all, my life motto is #YOLO. But as a new mom, I started running through the list of reasons it would be easier not to go… How would Adina sleep while we’re away? What would the flight be like with a six month old? Feeding her would be harder since we started solid foods. It would be the longest time we were ever away from Michael. And the list went on…

Backyard Makeover

One of the things that set our apartment apart from the other places we looked at was the outdoor space. Since we are on the ground floor of a brownstone, we have private access to the garden behind our building. When we first moved in, it looked like an overgrown jungle, full of weeds and plants that were in desperate need of grooming. Although it didn’t look like much, we saw potential for a beautiful natural oasis in the busy city.

Spring Living Room Update!

Slowly but surely, I have been updating our home for spring - mostly just changing things around from pillows to our coffee table to our shelves. This is probably my favorite thing to do since you don’t have to spend any money when you shop around your own home! But we recently made a simple (and affordable) update that has transformed the way our living room and whole home feels - we added curtains!

Adina's 6 Month Update

Oh my goodness! I can hardly believe I’m writing Adina’s 6 Month Update! How is my little baby half a year old?! Time is flying too fast! She is full of personality and I love how more and more of her personality comes through each day. While on one hand, it seems like this little peanut was just born, it also feels like so long ago. As excited as I am for all the major milestones ahead, I hope it doesn’t go by quite as fast. I really want to cherish every moment with our sweet girl! Here’s a little update about life with our favorite little gal at 6 months:

Clothing Swap with Fashion Blogger Petite Rachelle!

I don’t go clothing shopping that often. I find combing through the racks at big department stores overwhelming, I end up doing more “window shopping” than actually getting anything at small boutiques, and I don’t love online shopping since I prefer to try things on before I buy them. Growing up, my sister and I shared all of our clothes with each other and I was always swapping pieces with my girlfriends from school and camp, which was a fun way to freshen up my wardrobe without the hassle of shopping. That is why I absolutely love the semi-annual Petite Swap & Shop, a curated clothing swap hosted by my friend and stylist Rachel Klein of Petite Rachelle!
